Flowing life force energy for deep relaxation.

Reiki is a great tool for stress reduction and relaxation. Many people use Reiki for wellness. Reiki assists the body in creating an environment to facilitate healing.

Often after experiencing Reiki treatments a client will wish to take a Reiki I course to work with this energy themselves. This can be beneficial as they may then use this stress reduction and relaxation tool anytime they wish when the cost might otherwise be prohibitive.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.

Reiki (ray-key) is a multi-faceted spiritual energy that can be used to help people with meditation practices, spiritual growth, healing relationships, manifestation of goals and activating the Divine healing  power within all living beings. Our physical body is alive because of the “Life Force Energy” that is flowing through it. If our Life Force is low or blocked, it impacts our wellbeing and personal health. Reiki is an energy that works on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual level. The technique increases one’s Life Force Energy that brings the body back into balance promoting a healthier life.

The knowledge of an invisible energy that flows through all living things has been part of the wisdom of many cultures for thousands of years. The existence of Life Force Energy has even been documented by scientific experiments. Medical doctors are now looking at the role Reiki plays in the functioning of the immune system and the healing process.

Description of a Typical Session

A session is usually 60 to 90 minutes long.

Your initial session will include a discussion in which you are invited to share any particular problems or issues you are experiencing and to also identify what you hope to achieve from your session.

For the actual session, you will rest comfortably on a massage table on your back with your shoes removed. If preferred, Reiki can also be performed while you sit comfortably in a chair. Unlike massage therapy, you remain fully clothed; choosing loose, comfortable clothing is best.

A session can either be hands-on, where Brandy applies a light touch during the session, or hands-off, where she holds her hands slightly above your body. If you prefer not to be touched please indicate this before your session begins.

The session will then proceed with Brandy moving through specific standard Reiki hand positions beginning at your head or feet. You might feel a warming or tingling sensation during the session, or nothing but sheer relaxation. The session should be very pleasant, calming, and invigorating.

Animal Reiki

Energy flows through the body of an animal in good health much like an electric current. However, a number of factors can interfere with this flow. Among them are physical injuries, trauma, dietary changes, emotional problems, training issues or a combination of these problems.

Any blockage of energy can result in physical, psychological or behavioral problems.
Animal Reiki restores positive energy flow into the animal’s body, correcting imbalance.

Animal Reiki is the same as Human Reiki in that it works with the body's energy system. The treatment involves the placing on of hands in specific locations of the body but can also be done at a distance. Typically, the animal will approach and quickly become a willing participant. The treatment normally lasts for around 30 to 40 minutes but when working with animals a practitioner will always be guided by the animal and respect their boundaries.

Animals are much more in tune with their own energy than most humans are and so can tell the practitioner when they have received all they need for that session.
